This update adds a new Custom Query option to Editor Profiles Setup in JCE Pro, a new Cleanup Mode option in the Clipboard parameters to simplify Paste cleanup configuration, and adds security improvements when embedding Iframes and Media elements.
In JCE Core, advanced options have been removed from the Style Select and Clipboard parameters, and the JCE Media Field now only supports images and links. JCE Pro keeps all advanced options and media support as before.
Profile Custom Query Option
A new Custom Query option has been added to the Setup tab in Editor Profiles. This feature allows profiles to be dynamically assigned based on POST or GET variables present during editing. For instance, profiles can be configured to activate for specific articles or categories identified by their ID, or adapt to particular views or layouts within an extension, providing flexible and context-sensitive editing
Clipboard Cleanup Mode
A new Cleanup Mode option has been added to the Clipboard parameters with 4 options in JCE Pro - Clean HTML, Keep Classes, Keep Styles and Custom. Custom is the default option in JCE Pro, and allows the user to set the Clipboard options as required. For the other options:
- Clean HTML: Removes all non-essential HTML, ideal for content pasted from Office applications.
- Keep Classes: Retains class attributes while removing other unnecessary HTML.
- Keep Styles: Preserves style attributes along with classes (Office content only)
- Custom (Default): Allows full customization of clipboard settings.
The Custom option is not available in JCE Core.
Media Security Improvements
- Iframe Security: Implements the sandbox attribute by default to increase security. Trusted sources like YouTube and Vimeo receive optimized settings.
- Restricted Media Tags: Enforces specific HTML tags for different media types (e.g.,
<video>
for MP4,<audio>
for MP3) to ensure appropriate embedding.

The JCE Subscription is changing
From 1st June 2024, we are updating the JCE Subscription to include three distinct Subscription Plans. This change is designed to better reflect the value of our products and services and to provide organisations with the opportunity to select a plan that best represents their size, usage, and requirements.
Please Note: The changes in these plans do not limit the number of sites or domains you can install the JCE Pro Editor on. JCE Pro Editor can be installed and used on unlimited sites as always.

This update adds a Spellcheck option and adds GPT 4 Turbo as a Model option.
Spellcheck content using ChatGPT
Enabling the Spellcheck option in the parameters changes the Spellcheck button into a context-sensitive spellcheck using ChatGPT. This tool not only checks spelling but also understands the context of the text, supporting multiple languages seamlessly.
Click the Spellcheck button to perform the spellcheck. Once the spellcheck is complete, words marked as misspelled can be corrected by clicking on each marked word and selecting the suggested correction. Click Ignore Word to accept the word as spelled.
This plugin requires access to the ChatGPT OpenAI API - https://openai.com/chatgpt.
Download and Installation
The plugin can be downloaded from here. A JCE Pro Subscription is required.

This updates fixes a few recent issues with browser extensions, specifically Grammarly and various Adblockers, adds new Column insert options, merging of table cells when pasting table content, and includes a few other fixes and enhancments.
Grammarly extension conflict
Users have reported Chrome and Edge browsers crashing when attempting to access the right-click Context Menu in the editor. After some investigation the Grammarly browser extension was discovered as the cause and eventually the (bizarre) reason for the crash was found and fixed.
Adblocker update hides editor window
Over the weekend a number of users reported that the editor content window was no longer visible. This was found to be caused by an update to various Adblocker browser extensions, which has now been fixed.
New Column Insert options
The Add Column button now includes a drop-down menu with 2 new options: Add Column Before - which insert a new column before the current one - and Add Column After - which inserts a new column after the current one.
Merge Table cells on Pasting a Table
Pasting a table into an existing table will add the new table cells to the existing table. Existing cells will be replaced with the new cells starting from the cell in which the new content is pasted.
