Recently we have found that vimeo videos added a while ago are no longer responsive. My client contacted me to raise the issue.
When I investigated it transpired only the articles he had edited had 'lost' their responsiveness.
It turns out there were classes missing from the newly edited items 'class="mce-item-media mce-item-iframe"'.
This is how it should look to be responsive, note, not a popup.
I opened an old article that still carried a responsive video. As soon as it was opened the relevant classes had vanished. In code view I added the classes back and saved. Problem fixed. Except if you go to Editor view the manually added classes disappear. I have tried adding the classes in the Mediabox dialogue on the editor, under the advanced tab, and still the classes get cleaned out.
What's going on?
PS I have tried Media Box 2, no difference.

These classes are for internal editor use only, and should be removed. A recent editor update fixed the bug that was preventing them from being removed.
They do not make the Vimeo iframe responsive.
You can try this plugin - https://github.com/widgetfactory/wf_responsive_widgets - to make Youtube, Vimeo and other videos responsive on your site.

Thanks for responding
I don't understand why you would want to stop something that worked. Without that it would be useful to have a responsive option. In the meantime I will have to enter those classes manually.
I tried the plugin you suggested, it just crashed the site.

I'm curious to see how the mce-item-media and mce-item-iframe classes make videos responsive on your site, because as I said they are internal classes, and they would require additional specific, associated css styles in the front-end of your site to have any effect.
Please post a link to a video on your site that uses these classes.

This is one of the pages
Turtle Key Arts
The css is picked up from the default style sheet for the template. Quit simply
.item-page .mce-item-iframe {
width: 100% !important;
}
Something I might add to my style sheet, might be easiest in the end.

This is not part of JCE Pro, and must have been added to the template stylesheet.
You can replace this with:
.item-page iframe {
width: 100% !important;
}

The stylesheet comes with the template from blank.vc. I agree it wasn't with anything from you guys. Also it isn't something I added.
I add the css to cover it. Though I would still suggest an option in the plugin dialogue for the likes of my client who doesn't do css and such.
