- CSV upload - invalid mime type despite file browser parameter being set
Using JCE recently (versions below), I've noticed a couple of possible issues.
Firstly, I can't upload a CSV file, despite the option in the Editor Profiles -> Plugin Parameters -> File Broswer having a CSV option enabled. I get the error Invalid Mime Type. Uploading other file types works as expected and I can also upload the files through the Joomla media manager - just not the JCE editor.
Similarly, I trying to update the toolbar by dragging the File Manage button onto the Current Editor Layout. The button moves and sticks to the layout as expected but does not show up when editing an article etc.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

In Editor Profiles -> Editor Parameters -> Filesystem, set Validate Mimetype to No.

Please post a screenshot of the editor toolbar when editing an article.
Just because you're not paranoid doesn't mean everybody isn't out to get you.
Hi Ryan,
Thanks for the response.
I've tried the Validate Mimetype option but to no avail. Contacting my colleague, I found out that they are trying to upload CSVs by clicking the Insert/edit link button in the toolbar, then the Browse button and then uploading from there.
Here's a screenshot of the toolbar when editing an article:
Thanks,
Chris

What were you trying to upload it with before?

A csv file is a kind of text file, so it cannot be uploaded with the Image Manager.
You can use the File Browser via the Link dialog as you have done, or the File Manager dialog:
If the File Manager is not in your editor toolbar, you can add it in Editor Profiles -> Features & Layout - https://www.joomlacontenteditor.net/support/faq/plugins/buttons-missing-from-the-editor-toolbar-after-update

Hi Ryan,
I thought as much.
I went back into the Profiles -> Editor Parameters and then the filesystem tab for the Web Editor Front End profile and set Validate mime types to No. This seems to have solved the issue.
Initially, I was editing the Default profile since I assumed my colleague was using this one for editing in the administrator (back-end) but it turns out that the actual default profile for all users is the Web Editor Front End profile which is where I got confused.
I tried this but the button doesn't seem to 'stick' to its placement in the 'current toolbar'. It's not an issue now for me but I thought I'd point it out.
Thanks for your help.
