I am trying to upload JPG images with the "Thumbnail" option set. Images are uploaded fine, but the thumbnail creation fails with the error message "Attempted to load an image of unsupported type. Unable to create thumbnail!".
What should I do to solve this issue?

Does this happen with all images, or just one or two?

Do you know if your server supports PHP IMagick?

Thank you for your response!

Our hoster says that we do have imagick - Image Processing (ImageMagick 6.8.9) installed.

I have tried with several images from different sources in the meantime, and the behavior (error message) is the same.

Yes, when trying to resize an image on upload I get "Attempting to load an image of unsupported type. Unable to resize image!"

This issue appears to be fixed on your site now with an install of JCE Pro 2.9.8 Beta 1 - https://www.joomlacontenteditor.net/downloads/editor/pro/development

It looks like it was related to PHP 8.
