In the article edit view. The buttons are blank, but change to gray when I hover over them. I can see the descriptions if I hover on it. They work when clicked.

I'm not what steps to take.

I'm using Linux Ubuntu 20.04 LTS

What tooblar theme are you using, Retina or Classic?

I changed it from retina to classic and they have returned. I'm using the PRO version. Does it matter what toolbar theme i'm using?

No it doesn't but Retina looks better on high resolution screens.

The Retina theme using font icons in the woff format, and there may be a setting on your server (in the htaccess file) only allowing certain media types, with woff not being one of them.
