I already bring that problem to your attention. Nowadays the content of web sites are set in semantic containers or in columns (Bootstrap) to adapt to devices and the inability of JCE to edit correctly in this situation is becoming a difficulty for site editors.

I don’t know the difficulty involve in fixing that problem but, for me, it’s becoming serious enough to start to find another solution for editing.

Some thoughts:
- I’m sure if i use a JCE Template with a header all formatted, insert it and replace the text, it will work
- I was thinking at a kind of a temporary scratchpad where you can type your text in (a little bit like your text insertion tool), apply the Style and insert it (like a template) in the content.???

Now, to make it work, I have to create the element in a new article, copy it and insert it directly in the code of the article/section. A really awkward and painful way to edit.

I just try a copy/paste from a clean “scratchpad” article of the formatted element in my columns/divs arrangements and it work perfectly. That an improvement but not really practical.

It is not possible to select free text within a block element, eg: P and apply another block element, eg: H6, to that selected text. In your situation, the simplest solution would be to press Enter after the text to create 2 distinct paragraphs, and then select the first to apply the H6 rule.

My point is, JCE and all other WYSIWYG editors have limitations, which we attempt to overcome with development where possible, but usually users need to find ways to work around the limitations that they encounter, as is the case with almost all software.
