Hi there.. I have a ton of 404 errors like these:

/plugins/system/jcemediabox/css//templates/custom/img/broken-image.png and
/plugins/system/jcemediabox/themes/standard/css//templates/custom/img/corner-tl.png

And, rightfully so (404 error), as these files or even directories do not exist. Question is where do they come from and how do I get rid of them?

Thanks so much,
GG

Which version of MediaBox do you have installed?

Just because you're not paranoid doesn't mean everybody isn't out to get you.

Please post a link to your site, or an example Mediabox popup on your site.

Please uninstall JCE MediaBox 1.2 and install JCE MediaBox 2.1.2 - https://www.joomlacontenteditor.net/downloads/mediabox/development

I too have a site that is throwing 404 errors on JCE MediaBox pop-ups. I have uninstalled 1.2 and installed the above mentioned 2.1.2 and the issue persists.

On the page at https://www.fcp.co/final-cut-pro/articles/2317-why-can-t-i-trim-my-live-shows-on-youtube the fire image is not a pop-up, but a number of the following ones are.

@cybersalt - I'm not seeing any 404 errors related to JCE MediaBox on any of your pages (the one you link to is restricted). There are other 404 errors, but they are not caused by MediaBox.

HI Ryan. Sorry about that, I forgot it was restricted.

I have made the page public.

Interestingly, media popups are working on other pages.

And yes, this site is a bit of a mess for font 404 errors- it's getting an overhaul elsewhere in a sandbox

OK, i think I have this figure out. I believe either the url of the pop-up was too long or it's too many folders deep.

I've also checked folder permissions and the look fine and also files from same folder do load in the article.

Original URL to pop-up:
images/stories/2020/09_2020/trim-youtube-video/trim-youtube-video-01-largea.jpg
popup result: 404

Rename file to 1 character:
images/stories/2020/09_2020/trim-youtube-video/1.jpg
popup result 404:

Move 1 character filename up on folder:
/images/stories/2020/09_2020/1.jpg
popup result: works
