I'm not sure if this is a bug or a problem, but it bugs me. Here's my setup on JCE Pro 2.6.19:
Both of those work very well, as expected. What bugs me is the Article Images and Links tab. When I click the select button for the article IMAGES, the FILE BROWSER directory opens (downloads). It seems like this should be the same as the IMAGE MANAGER location, where all of our site images are. Since only images should be used in the article images thumb and full fields, this seems like a bug to me.
I have a hard time believing that I'm the only one with this issue. Any thoughts Ryan?
Thanks,
Joel
- My File Browser directory path is set to "downloads" <- Location that comes up in the browse button in the insert link into article
- My Image Manager path is set to "images" <- Location when using the insert image into an article

The File Browser is a generic file management dialog that it used by various plugins in the editor, such as the Link dialog, Tables etc. and also outside of the editor, such as Joomla media fields like in the Images & Links tab. In all these instances, the parameters of the File Browser are used, such as the File Directory Path.
A file filter is usually associated with these external fields, eg: the Intro Image field uses an "image" filter, instructing the File Browser to only display images. At present, this is the extent of the customisation available via these external fields.
Just because you're not paranoid doesn't mean everybody isn't out to get you.
