Hi Ryan,
Sometimes I notice in code view that JCE adds a span tag and I don't know why nor what it's used for.
I don't remember the exact steps to replicate, but an example is when I use the non-breaking space icon in JCE. But sometimes it happens even if I didn't click the non-breaking space icon. My guess is this is related to that Chrome bug from my other ticket.

Thanks.

Hi Ryan,
I found another bug that might be related to this original post along with another post. Do you think these are all related to the same Chrome browser update bug? Do you have any ideas on how to correct this until Chrome is updated?

Now today I noticed that when I select background colored text in a saved article, and then I use the JCE Editor icon to remove the background color, when I save the changes, JCE does not remove that span tag. Here is an example:

Hi,
I'm having simular issues in Chrome. When we edit in Chrome using JCE editor, we see JCE adding <span> styling. Please look at this video (https://vimeo.com/312723875/f909bdc9f2https://vimeo.com/312723875/f909bdc9f2) what is happening.
We tried other browsers, then there are no issues.
This happens since many months, in all kinds of versions of Joomla. JCE is Pro version

I am seeing an inconsistent addition of spans. I use Chrome, but have not isolated this as a Chrome-related problem. The span that gets added to some paragraphs is <span style="background-color: inherit; color: inherit; font-family: inherit; font-size: 1rem;">. It is not applied to all paragraphs.
This has the feel of a typical WebKit bug, but I am unable to reproduce it using the latest version of Chrome and JCE Pro.
A similar issue has been reported here - https://github.com/widgetfactory/jce/issues/37
Please confirm that this is only happening with JCE Pro and not with the default Tinymce editor.

Just because you're not paranoid doesn't mean everybody isn't out to get you.
Can you reproduce this on the demo site? - https://demo.joomlacontenteditor.net/

Hi, yes, same issue: https://cl.ly/c60b877cffcf
In your example the line after the deleted paragraph is a Heading. I can reproduce the issue in this case only.
Does the issue happen when that line is also a paragraph?

Looks like it happens with Headings, but can't recall this was the case on my websites before as well. But is possible.
Also, something strange happens with listing: https://cl.ly/23ccc7945a23

Okey, I just cleared browser cache completely, but with no luck: https://cl.ly/2cdc2eb6d933

I am seeing the issue fixed in your site.
This suggests that your browser is either caching one of the older JCE scripts, or it wasn't overwritten with the new one on install.
Please uninstall and re-install JCE Pro 2.7.0 RC12, and clear your browser cache.

You don't remove the whole paragraph as I can see in your Screenshot. Please remove the whole paragraph, so no empty line is left. Then the Heading will be gone and Span is added.
I removed JCE, did empty my browser cache, re-installed JCE (your RC12 version), and tried the same moves in normal and in Incognito mode. No differences.

This should now be fixed in JCE Pro 2.6.37 - https://www.joomlacontenteditor.net/downloads/editor/pro/latest
