When I upload a jpg-image, or resize an image, I get the message "the file is not a valid image". There is no reason as I can see to reject it: its a normal, 72dpi, RGB image, with extension .jpg.
When resizing, the preview is perfect, but when saving the error appears.
I have downloaded JCE Pro 2.9.8 Beta 5 to see if the problem was already handled, but it is not.

Which PHP version are you using?

Just because you're not paranoid doesn't mean everybody isn't out to get you.

pwouda
PHP version 7.3.28

Ryan
Do you get an error when uploading an image with the resize option enabled?

No, the resize-option is disabled.
I also checked an upload in the Joomla-media manager. It says:

Illegal mime type detected: text/html

Ryan
Do you have any htaccess rules set as to where images can be loaded from?

Not that I know. I worked for 3 years without any problem, and nothing has changed. Some images can be uploaded, but not resized. Very strange.

Did that.

I found out that setting the "Check MIME types" in the Media Manager options to "NO" solved the problem. I have set it to "YES" now so you can check the error.

This will only affect the Joomla Media Manager, as JCE does not use these settings.

I've just tested a resize in the Image Editor on your site, with the same "test" image you used, and I did not get the error.
