I have every single allowance enabled and no validation enabled and still the editor will strip a <link rel.../> tag completely from the code. If edited in Code view, no problem. But if you simply switch from Code to Editor view, the tag completely disappears. Is there a way to specify this as an Extended Element, perhaps?

The tag is disabled by default for security reasons, as it can be used to load external content.
You can enable it by adding it to the Extended Elements field in Editor Profiles -> Editor Parameters -> Advanced, eg:

It says right below that box "Only applies if 'Cleanup HTML' is 'Yes'", which it isn't. So will it even be honored?
