I'm having difficulty uploading new photos and I get an error The server returned an invalid JSON response

I purchased the pro version and still I get this issue.

I never had this issue before.

I have updated to 2.9.4-beta 10 and also saw there was a new Joomla update which I also updated but I still get the very same Server returned an invalid JSON response when I try to upload new images.

Please assist

The "PXLCompressor" plugin you have installed is generating a PHP error when it is performing some post upload processing. It is attempting to use a PHP function "mime_content_type" that is not available on your server.

If I disable this plugin, uploads proceed as expected. Please contact the "PXLCompressor" developers for a fix for their plugin.
