Hello. When a user clicks the browser option to upload images they can see files in the folder. Is there a way for them to upload without giving them access to view the other files?

Not when using the File Browser dialog to upload.

You could disable access to the File Browser dialog in parameters (see image below), and then only allow uploading using drag & drop in the editor window.

Just because you're not paranoid doesn't mean everybody isn't out to get you.

I did that. I'm not seeing a drag and drop in the window.

Drag & drop into the editor window itself, not the dialog box.

You can drag images from Explorer, Finder etc. into the editor window (the area below the toolbar) and they will be uploaded using the Image Manager parameters - File Directory Path, Resize options etc.

How would the user know they can drag and drop in the editor window? I don't see how they would know to do this without a pop-up window to select their files. I also tried that method and received an error.

Please try JCE Pro 2.9.4 Beta 7 - https://www.joomlacontenteditor.net/downloads/editor/pro/development

An upload button is now available in the URL field of the Image Manager basic dialog.

Hello Ryan. I installed JCE Pro 2.9.4 Beta 7 and I'm not seeing the upload button. See my settings.

I changed the Toolbar Theme. It's not in the Classic, Classic Touch, Office Blue, Office Silver, and Office Black.

Ryan
Please see the image I posted above. The upload button is in the Image dialog, which is opened when clicking the Insert Image button in the editor toolbar.

It's only in the Toolbar Themes Retina and Retina Touch. Also when I select a photo I get the following error:

"The server returned an invalid JSON response"

This appears to be fixed on your site now with an install of JCE Pro 2.9.4 Beta 8 - https://www.joomlacontenteditor.net/downloads/editor/pro/development

Hey Ryan. It works, thanks. Just one suggestion. It takes about 5 seconds for the URL to show in the field and I navigated away from the page twice. A processing, progress bar, or notification will keep the users from navigating away before the process is complete.
