When using the HTML5 audio feature, the audio is muted on the FE of the site when playing back. You have to click the speaker icon to hear it EVEN THOUGH the mute audio setting is turned off in configuration.

EVEN THOUGH the mute audio setting is turned off in configuration.
This is the default value, but it can still be changed when if you enable the option when inserting the audio.
However, your site appears to be using the MediaElement library - http://www.mediaelementjs.com - perhaps as part of a plugin you have installed or your template, which may be causing the issue, as I can see from the source code of the <audio> tag that mute is not set.
