I have just installed the latest version of JCE Editor and the reason was that I had an old version which created random gaps in articles and error when I was embeding Twitter posts with icons.

It looks like the Twitter problem hasn't been fixed after all these years. I am surprised that noone is mentioning it. When we put an embed Twitter code in an article, and this code has at least one icon, then this one icon is enough for the whole article to collapse. Look at the unlisted video below:

https://youtu.be/s4RENXfqels

So when I edit the Twitter post and remove those icons, then the article appears normally.

I want a hotfix for the time being so that I can do my job (because 1 our of 10 articles contain Twitter embed posts and I have new employees every month which fall into the drap and upload corrupted articles). Finally, I hope that this is fixed with an update in the next version.

ps. This has been discussed in a previous forum topic which has 404 error, probably due to the Twitter code as well.

A 1267 error is caused by a collation error in your database. You are trying to save or access UTF-8 multibyte characters (the emoji in the tweet) when the database table that the content is saved in does not support it.

You can attempt to fix this by downloading Akeeba Admin Tools Core - https://www.akeebabackup.com/products/admin-tools.html - then go to Comonents -> Admin Tools amd cick the "Change Database Collation" button.

Greetings,

I don't have the knowledge to do that because I have a 50% chance of getting an error in my site after installing anything. The site is 15 years old.

Contact me via email to gameworldgr [ατ] gmail.com so that you can fix the issue. I can't find the "Private messages" in this site, where we spoke last time.

Thank you.

Please send me a login using this form -> https://www.joomlacontenteditor.net/contact/site-login - and I will see if I am able to fix it. As this is not a JCE issue, but a problem with your site, I can't guarantee that I will be able to fix it.

Ok I just did it.

Please proceed with caution! It's an old and heavy website. 🙂

Thank you.

Ryan
I have updated JCE to the latest version on your site.

I am unable to solve the emoji issue. There appears to be an issue with your database, perhaps the collation is incorrect as I mentioned before.

Please see this article for reference - https://www.joomlashack.com/blog/joomla/emoji/

Although I did install Admin Tools, I did not convert the databse as recommended, in case the process caused a problem with your site. You can do this yourself, by following the instructions in the article, at your own risk.
