Hi Ryan,

when pasting some text from the clipboard by crtl-v, the text is surrounded by a p-tag - see video.
I earlier versions of JCE (2.6.x /2.7.x ????) this effect was not there - only the text itself was inserted.

The text itself was copied to the clipboard without any surrounding tags.

How can I prevent this or is this a buggy feature by JCE?

Ryan
In the Editor Global Configuration, what do you have set for Container Element & Enter Key?

What is the source of the text? Is it from an HTML page (web page) or a text document?

Hi Ryan,

I made another video, so I hope it will be clearer.

First I copied (cntl-c) text from a html-page.
Then I entered the editor and pasted in the clipboard-entry via (ctrl-v).
The text is pasted with it's html-tag - it remains in bold-style.

When taken a text from the snippet-id field of the editor-window, the text is pasted with a p-tag.
That I think is a clear text.

Ryan
Anything pasted into the editor that is taken from an HTML source (the form element you are copying the text from is an HTML source), will be treated as HTML, and if it is not pasted into an existing block element (eg: paragraph) then it will be wrapped in a block element, according to the Container Element & Enter Key settings in the Editor Global Configuration.

To paste something in as pure text, using CTRL + SHIFT + V.

Hi Ryan,

I think, there is a principal problem with pasting some text into an article.

I made a video doing this:

Opening an Joomla article in edit mode via JCE 2.8.10-rc2

Copy the article-title via popup-crtl-v to the clipboard.
Pasting in the text via the popup-option (... as clear text).

This opens a popup which tells me that I should paste the text via crtl-v into the popup-window-area.
Doing this, the text is filled in as normal text, without any tags or visible formats.
When selecting the insert-button ot the popup, the text is pasted into the article at cursor-position, but it is then surrounded by a p-tag.

That look to me, that is is not pasted as ... as clear text

As I said in my previous post:

and if it is not pasted into an existing block element (eg: paragraph) then it will be wrapped in a block element, according to the Container Element & Enter Key settings in the Editor Global Configuration.

Sorry Ryan,

but that is not the way, JCE handled it in earlier versions. I haven't changed anything in the Global Config.

I wonder, why this has been changed?
When pasting the text, there ist no Enter-key pressed.

Ryan
What is the Container Element & Enter Key option in your Editor Global Configuration set to?

Here is my editor-config.

Ryan
I have found the cause of this issue and I am working on a fix.

Until then, in Editor Profiles -> Plugin Parameters -> Markdown, set Process External Content to No.
