Hi,

I have been using Joomla! for many years, but these times my component of choice was K2.
The main reason is the way of how the user can add the main article image, video, etc...

Some times ago I found a paid extension that can do that but using too many extensions for one task(managing the content in an easy way) is not a good idea.

Currently, does JCE offers the ability to upload automatically the images/videos/etc with the first click in the file browse buttons(step_1.jpg).

The current flow is awful 🙁 !
You need to click to make 5 clicks(step_1.jpg, step_2.jpg & step_3.jpg)
1. Select button
2. Upload button
3. Browse button
4. Upload button
5. Insert button

Thank you!

No, and changing the behaviour of this field to do that would remove the possibility of browsing for a file as before, which other users might prefer.

I will look into alternatives for this in future, but as this is not a JCE Editor field - it is an extension of the Joomla Media field - options are limited.

Just because you're not paranoid doesn't mean everybody isn't out to get you.

I have added experimental support for this in the latest JCE Pro 2.8.3 Beta - https://www.joomlacontenteditor.net/downloads/editor/pro/development

You can upload and insert a file using drag & drop or the new Upload button

Sorry for the delayed reply.
I tried the beta version and don't know how, but once it seems that this feature was working.

After that no other test from my part I was able to upload an image, even after installing the version that was published today.

Google Chrome console is showing some errors.

Thank you!

Unfortunately on this build, the upload button is not showing at all.

Now it seems to be working well.

It's very impressive that you take into consideration my suggestions!

Thank you 🙂 !

Is there any way to turn this feature off?

When the mouse pointer is over the image URL field, the buttons pop-out to show a 'choose file' button which goes to the local machine rather than Joomla media library, which is confusing for my users.

I'd rather NOT have this function available if possible.
