The Read More buttons were removed in 2.8.0 because JCE has it's own Read More and Page Break buttons in the editor toolbar, which work better.
I have added them back in 2.8.1 however. You can test this in JCE Pro 2.8.1 RC7 - https://www.joomlacontenteditor.net/downloads/editor/pro/development

Thats Ok. happy to use your JCE readmore I jaust hadn't seen it (IO use a truncated set of icons normally) .. will take a look. On a related point I preferred your original coloured icons to the new colourless ones which seem to be much like wordpress edoitor icons and one on the many things I dislike about wordpress.

As always a priompt an comprehensive reply, Thank you. Others might just have said RTFM. Wlill look at it when I get a chance... Especially as the new layout did not seem high definition. Tied up with other pressing matters at the moment. Philip
