On a testing bed for Joomla 4 (beta developer version early 22nov2019) I installed the JCE Editor 2.8.1. Beta 4, hoping it would solve a problem that occurred.

After installing JCE Pro the 'update checks' indicated that a 'download key' was missing. So, the download key was inserted... but without any success. The indication that the 'download key' is missing is still there.

Any solution?

In Joomla 4, you may need to add the key in Extensions -> Update Sites, by clicking on the name of the extension - JCE Editor Package - and pasting the key into the Download Key field
